  1. Acupuncture is often considered beneficial for treating post-car accident personal injuries for several reasons: Pain Management: Acupuncture can help alleviate pain and discomfort caused by injuries sustained in a car accident. It stimulates the release of endorphins, which are natural pain-relieving chemicals in the body. This can help reduce pain without relying solely on medication.

  2. Reduced Inflammation: Car accidents can lead to inflammation in the body, which can contribute to pain and slow down the healing process. Acupuncture has been found to have anti-inflammatory effects, helping to reduce swelling and promote healing.

  3. Relaxation and Stress Relief: Car accidents can be traumatic experiences that cause physical and emotional stress. Acupuncture promotes relaxation and helps regulate the nervous system, reducing stress levels and aiding in overall well-being.

  4. Improved Blood Circulation: Acupuncture promotes better blood circulation, which is essential for delivering oxygen, nutrients, and immune cells to injured areas. Enhanced circulation can help speed up the healing process and reduce recovery time.

  5. Non-Invasive Approach: Acupuncture is a non-invasive treatment option compared to surgical interventions or long-term medication use. It involves inserting thin needles into specific points of the body to stimulate healing responses.

  • If your insurance does cover acupuncture, we can provide you with an insurance-compatible Superbill. A Superbill is an invoice for your visit that uses standardized codes for all treatments performed. This process requires the patient to pay the full cost of the treatment out -of-pocket at the time of the visit and we give out this receipt to clients who would like to try to get reimbursement/credit from their health Insurance company for out-of-network services. The Superbill can thereafter be submitted to your insurance carrier for full or partial reimbursement depending on your policy.

If we give you a Super Bill, you should:

  1. Contact your Insurance company

  2. Get Address for mailing in/faxing your Super Bill in -- Tell them you have a Super Bill for services provided out of network and ask them where to send that bill.

  3. Ask if there is are any forms you need to fill out to accompany  your submission

  4. Ask if you needed to put a cover letter or other info with your bill.  They will need your Subscriber ID somehow.  You might just be able to hand write that on the Super Bill, but we might suggest a short cover letter as outlined   below.

  5. Example) mm/dd/yyyy
RE:  Super Bill for {Your Name} -- Subscriber ID xxxxxxxxxx
    Dear Sir/Madam --
Please see Super Bill attached for Acupuncture Services.  Please contact me with any questions.
    Thanks.

  • In general, insurance covers all pain conditions, and also any condition referred from your primary care physician.

  • Most of insurance only covers acupuncture. You may choose to pay out of pocket for non-covered treatment options: Tui-Na massage, Gua-Sha scraping, Cupping, or Herbal medicine.
